Heritage Open Day at the

Walled Garden at Luton Hoo Estate

Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, organisations, houses, museums and gardens across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. We are so excited to be part of this fantastic festival!

Visit the Walled Garden, designed by Capability Brown for Lord Bute and now the focus of a fascinating revival project.  Entry is free and tours will run throughout the day at only £3 per person.  (11.15am - 12.15pm - 2pm) Discover the garden's rich history and see the results of the incredible work undertaken by the volunteer team in partnership with the Estate - PEOPLE POWER IN ACTION!

Discounted tours of our fascinating garden, fresh seasonal produce available in our garden shop, and tea, coffee and cake from at The Woodyard Coffee shop - a short walk from the Walled Garden Car Park.

Refreshments and guided tours are available. Delicious honey and apple juice from the garden are also available in our garden shop.  Plenty of free parking available!
