Heritage Open Days celebrate England’s fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to places that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission. Join the Luton Hoo Walled Garden’s fantastic Volunteers to celebrate what makes our garden so special!

Visit our octagonal Walled Garden designed by Capability Brown for Lord Bute and discover it's long forgotten secret. Browse our variety of displays telling the story of the Walled Garden and the historic farm buildings.

Designed by Capability Brown for the 3rd Earl of Bute in 1769 and now being restored, this 5 acre octagonal garden is opened to the public for selected days each year. Step into living history as you enter this garden’s ancient walls and discover plants grown during the times of Bute, tools downed during the last century and buildings that tell the fascinating story of gardeners past.
