The Hoo’s Food was set up in 2007 to diversify the Estate and complement the re-development of the Walled Garden.
The aim is to make the estate brand synonymous within the food sector and to develop the brand image throughout the region.
In the longer term we are committed to developing a range of own label products from the estates farming enterprises.
The aim is to establish a customer base across the region in both retail and foodservice sectors with high volume customers developed to provide the hub with security. The aim is to provide the best food from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Essex. However there is a strong overlying principle that products cannot be sourced from further than 35 miles from the Estate.
Currently Hoo’s Food is supplying 15 ASDA stores within 30 miles of the Estate
Based on the concept of a ‘Food Hub’ which is a key supply chain solution facilitating the supply of local food. The hub acts as a consolidator/distribution centre which sources regional foods, making it easier for retailers and foodservice outlets to purchase local food as they are able to order several products from one point of contact, rather than many contacts.
